When scheduling a newborn session with me, you’ll learn that I offer two options – studio and lifestyle. Some people know exactly what they want from the start. But some people come to me for advice, and I’m happy to help! If you’re one of the ones torn between the two, I’m probably going to ask you two questions: how much light do you have in your home, and how’s the nursery? I ask these questions for a couple of reasons. Photography needs light! I can absolutely make any home work for a lifestyle session, even if it’s on the darker side, but the end result will look a bit different than what you see on my website. For bright, airy images, we need that gorgeous window light!
The second question is usually the one that seals the deal – some people put so much time, effort and love into the nursery that it deserves to be shown off just a little bit! Baby Grant’s nursery (with the amazing light this family has in their home!) was just begging to be photographed. It had so many sweet little touches that his parents added just for him, and so many adorable details that were fun to capture – like the mirror above the changing table! And I love the little child-height book shelves tucked into a nook. How cute is that?
The rest of this family’s bright and airy home was just as well-decorated as the nursery, so we had no problem finding perfect spots to capture their family images. Whether they were snuggling on the bed or the couch, they looked great! And you can tell that these wonderful parents adore their little man. Welcome to the world, Grant! I can’t wait to watch you grow into the amazing little guy I know you’re going to be.
