When scheduling a session with a family, I want to do everything I can to make our time together go well. One of the ways I accomplish this is by sending a questionnaire to parents so I can get some details on the family. Some parents tell me little things their kids like, some tell me their kids are complete hams and love the camera, and still others let me know that their kids may be a little on the shy side. This dad told me that his little guy would do fine, but that he was really worried about his sweet girl warming up to me. While I’m great with kids and can typically get them to open up and have some fun, I always take parents’ notes on their kids seriously – after all, parents know their kids best! So I went into this session prepared for a serious little one…and she showed us all!
This sweet girl did take a few minutes to warm up to me, preferring to stay in dad’s arms and let her big brother take a turn first. Once she saw how great brother did, though, she was all smiles! These awesome kids were more than happy to pose for me, run around together, and play games for the camera. They giggled with me and put up with my silly faces and songs. In the end, we got an amazing gallery with happy kiddos! Happy kiddos make for happy parents, and happy parents mean one happy photographer. I loved hanging out with these guys, and can’t wait to see them again next year!
