Typically, I only use the beach for sessions between late September and May. Kids are in school, the weather is cooler, and the sun isn’t as bright. Over the summer, the beach is crazy! Every square inch is covered with people, which is great! Just not for family photos… So we stick to the cooler months and usually get a gorgeous, empty beach. When this sweet family told me they wanted their family photos on the beach in July, I explained to them that it wasn’t possible. I was surprised – and super excited – when they told me that they had access to a semi-private beach, and that crowds wouldn’t be an issue!
As you can see, the beach was perfect. We had a beautiful evening, and these two sweet little girls were so much fun for me. I loved walking the shore with them, looking for beach glass and splashing in the waves. And I think mom and dad loved that we kept the girls engaged enough that they forgot it was way past bed time! This adorable family ended up with amazing family portraits in a location that is really special to them. And I got to spend a summer evening at the beach! What a great night – thanks guys!
