2020 took a lot of things from all of us. From a personal perspective, my family has been much more fortunate than many. We are so grateful for that. Professionally, though, it was a tough year. My clients missed out on so many newborn, sitter and cake smash sessions in the months I was closed, and it breaks my heart that they’ll never get those moments back. Those missed moments, though, weren’t the end of the story. In order to give all of those sweet families the best options possible, I ended up moving many of them to fall for family sessions. Unfortunately, this meant I wasn’t able to fit my own family and friends into my fall schedule like I normally do. So when Amanda, one of my best friends, asked me about the chances of a family session this year, I said “Hope for a warm November”, not expecting it to actually workout. Well, November showed up for us!
We had the most perfect fall afternoon for this family session, and the adults were all so excited! The boys, on the other hand, weren’t so sure. They started off a little cranky with me, but with some tricks, treats, and mama snuggles, they came around – and just look at the results! These two are absolutely adorable, and just as sweet. They are the best brothers, and love to hang out together. Big brother Declan is so great at getting his little brother to smile, and I love the photos of them interacting. Aren’t their parents the luckiest?
2020 was pretty awful – there’s no way around that. But moments like this, when everything worked out just the way it was supposed to, made a dark year a little brighter. I love being able to give my wonderful friends happy memories of their little ones growing up, and I can’t wait to do it again next year!
