Most of the time, my families with young kids choose late September/early October for their fall family sessions. The weather is (generally) cooperative, the session times are early enough for little ones, the leaves look great, and they are able to wear pretty much whatever they want. Some families, though, just have a specific time of year that they like to schedule. Some people want closer to summer so they can wear beachy clothes and have bright sunshine. Some, like this sweet family, want my last spot of the year (early November) so they can wear their Christmas colors! This is risky, especially with little kids. Let’s face it: Cleveland weather is not the most predictable. Last year, this adorable family had snow and freezing cold kiddos. We made it work! This year, though, we hit the jackpot!
This family session was so gorgeous. The cooperative weather made it easy for mom to plan outfits (they were actually a little too warm!), and we didn’t have to worry about cold noses and wet clothes. The result was happy kids, and even happier parents! These two sweet kiddos are so much fun. They have tons of energy, so luckily we chose a spot where they could run around and play in between shots. And when it was time for photos, you can see how great they did!
Bad weather or good, I love working with my families year after year. Seeing kids grow and change is so awesome, and I can’t wait to see what next November brings us!
